The Unveiling

Saturday Morning Scripture (Wk37/2021) – Psalm 85

Prayer for God’s Mercy upon the Nation.
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah.
1 O Lord, You have [at last] shown favor to Your land [of Canaan]; You have restored [from Babylon] the captives of Jacob (Israel).
2 You have forgiven the wickedness of Your people; You have covered all their sin. Selah.
3 You have withdrawn all Your wrath, You have turned away from Your burning anger.
4 Restore us, O God of our salvation, and cause Your indignation toward us to cease.
5 Will You be angry with us forever? Will You prolong Your anger to all generations?
6 Will You not revive us and bring us to life again, that Your people may rejoice in You?
7 Show us Your lovingkindness, O Lord, and grant us Your salvation.
8 I will hear [with expectant hope] what God the Lord will say, for He will speak peace to His people, to His godly ones—but let them not turn again to folly.
9 Surely His salvation is near to those who [reverently] fear Him [and obey Him with submissive wonder], that glory [the manifest presence of God] may dwell in our land.
10 Steadfast love and truth and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other.
11 Truth springs from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven.
12 Indeed, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its produce.
13 Righteousness will go before Him and will make His footsteps into a way [in which to walk].

Verse of the Evening – Psalm 4:3

Friday Evening Scripture (Wk37/2021) – Psalm 4

Evening Prayer of Trust in God.
To the Chief Musician; on stringed instruments. A Psalm of David.
Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness! You have freed me when I was hemmed in and relieved me when I was in distress; be gracious to me and hear [and respond to] my prayer.
2 O sons of men, how long will my honor and glory be [turned into] shame? How long will you [my enemies] love worthless (vain, futile) things and seek deception and lies? Selah.
3 But know that the Lord has set apart for Himself [and dealt wonderfully with] the godly man [the one of honorable character and moral courage—the one who does right]. The Lord hears and responds when I call to Him.
4 Tremble [with anger or fear], and do not sin; meditate in your heart upon your bed and be still [reflect on your sin and repent of your rebellion]. Selah.
5 Offer righteous sacrifices; trust [confidently] in the Lord.
6 Many are saying, “Oh, that we might see some good!”
Lift up the light of Your face upon us, O Lord.
7 You have put joy in my heart,
More than [others know] when their wheat and new wine have yielded abundantly.
8 In peace [and with a tranquil heart] I will both lie down and sleep,
For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety and confident trust.

The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it].

Thursday Morning Prayer (Wk37/2021)

Father God, I awake this morning giving You all glory, honour, thanks and praise. I thank You for all You have done; all You are doing; and all You intend to do.
Today, I ask You to be the light that leads my way in this dark world. Your Word tells me that You are The Light that shines on in the darkness. I pray that I am overpowered by Your Light, so that every trace of doubt, fear, illness, sin, which are products of darkness, be removed. I thank You that because I have been born with purpose, my future is one where I have the victory. At times it may not feel like it or look like it, from afar, but You are the one surety that I have. Help me to not go by feelings or sight but by Your Spirit, by knowledge and faith that You are The Ever-present God. Help me to always remember that, so I will remain relentless; through thick and thin, rain or shine, light and dark. I pray for my hope to be based on nothing less than Yeshua HaMashiach and His righteousness. May I lead others out of the darkness and into Your glorious light, that their vision will become clear, and we will be able to rise up and be positive representatives of You. For You are The Way, The Truth and The Life. As it was in the beginning, when we were created in Your image, so shall it forever be. My Father and my God, I trust in You.
The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it].
John 1:5 (AMP)
For God Who said, Let light shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts so as [to beam forth] the Light for the illumination of the knowledge of the majesty and glory of God [as it is manifest in the Person and is revealed] in the face of Jesus Christ (the Messiah).
2 Corinthians 4:6 (AMPC)
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
1 Peter 2:9 (AMPC)
20 Now may the God of peace [Who is the Author and the Giver of peace], Who brought again from among the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood [that sealed, ratified] the everlasting agreement (covenant, testament),
21 Strengthen (complete, perfect) and make you what you ought to be and equip you with everything good that you may carry out His will; [while He Himself] works in you and accomplishes that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ (the Messiah); to Whom be the glory forever and ever (to the ages of the ages).
Amen (So be it)
