Lion Bites – Global Prophetic Alliance – Welcome Holy Spirit

I am The Good Shepherd.

Haven’t I told you that I stand at the door and knock?

I am standing, My staff is in My hand.

I am lifting it.

For anyone who will ask and believe,  I will give of My Spirit in abundance.

Yes, a waterfall from heaven; it is My desire to pour My Spirit on all flesh.

Here I am, standing from My lifted place and I am knocking, looking, and waiting.

For Him who will ask of Me.

For My Spirit alone.

By faith alone.

Value My Spirit and seek it out. Ask and wait for My Spirit.

Activation: Look into the Spirit and ask to see the Holy Spirit knocking on your door. Are you allowing the door to open? Is it open slightly? Flung wide? Or is it closed shut? Based on how open your door is, let this lead you into a time with Holy Spirit where you consider how spirit led you already are and how spirit led you would like to be.

Behold, I stand at the door [of the church] and continually knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him (restore him), and he with Me.

Revelation 3:20 (AMP)

The Lord’s Promise of His Spirit

28 [a]“Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions.

29 In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on servants—men and women alike.

30 And I will cause wonders in the heavens and on the earth—blood and fire and columns of smoke.

Friday Morning Scripture – Joel 2:18-30

    The Lord’s Promise of Restoration

18 Then the LORD will pity His people and jealously guard the honor of His land.

    19 The LORD will reply,
“Look! I am sending you grain and new wine and olive oil, enough to satisfy your needs. You will no longer be an object of mockery among the surrounding nations.

20 I will drive away these armies from the north. I will send them into the parched wastelands. Those in the front will be driven into the Dead Sea, and those at the rear into the Mediterranean.[a] The stench of their rotting bodies will rise over the land.”

Surely the LORD has done great things!

21 Don’t be afraid, O land. Be glad now and rejoice, for the LORD has done great things.

22 Don’t be afraid, you animals of the field,
for the wilderness pastures will soon be green. The trees will again be filled with fruit; fig trees and grapevines will be loaded down once more.

23 Rejoice, you people of Jerusalem Rejoice in the LORD your God! For the rain He sends demonstrates His faithfulness. Once more the autumn rains will come, as well as the rains of spring.

24 The threshing floors will again be piled high with grain, and the presses will overflow with new wine and olive oil.

25 The LORD says, “I will give you back what you lost to the swarming locusts, the hopping locusts, the stripping locusts, and the cutting locusts.[b] It was I who sent this great destroying army against you.

26 Once again you will have all the food you want, and you will praise the LORD your God, who does these miracles for you. Never again will My people be disgraced.

27 Then you will know that I am among My people Israel, that I am the LORD your God, and there is no other. Never again will My people be disgraced.

The LORD’s Promise of His Spirit

28 [c]“Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out My Spirit upon all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions.

29 In those days I will pour out My Spirit

Friday Morning Scripture – Revelation 3

    Message to Sardis

1 “To the angel (divine messenger) of the church in [a]Sardis write:

“These are the words of Him who has [b]the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: ‘I know your deeds; you have a name (reputation) that you are alive, but [in reality] you are dead.

Wake up, and strengthen and reaffirm what remains [of your faithful commitment to Me], which is about to die; for I have not found [any of] your deeds completed in the sight of My God or meeting His requirements.

So remember and take to heart the lessons you have received and heard. Keep and obey them, and repent [change your sinful way of thinking, and demonstrate your repentance with new behavior that proves a conscious decision to turn away from sin]. So then, if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you.

But you [still] have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their clothes [that is, contaminated their character and personal integrity with sin]; and they will walk with Me [dressed] in white, because they are worthy (righteous)

He who overcomes [the world through believing that Jesus is the Son of God] will accordingly be dressed in white clothing; and I will never blot out his name from the Book of Life, and I will confess and openly acknowledge his name before My Father and before His angels [saying that he is one of Mine]He who has an ear, let him hear and heed what the Spirit says to the churches.’

    Message to Philadelphia

“And to the angel (divine messenger) of the church in [c]Philadelphia write:

These are the words of the Holy One, the True One, He who has the key [to the house] of David, He who opens and no one will [be able to] shut, and He who shuts and no one opens:

‘I know your deeds. See, I have set before you an open door which no one is able to shut, for you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not renounced or denied My name.

Take note, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—I will make them come and bow down at your feet and make them know [without any doubt] that I have loved you.

10 Because you have kept the word of My endurance [My command to persevere], I will keep you [safe] from the hour of trial, that hour which is about to come on the whole [inhabited] world, to test those who live on the earth.

11 I am coming quickly. Hold tight what you have, so that no one will take your crown [by leading you to renounce the faith]

12 He who overcomes [the world through believing that Jesus is the Son of God], I will make him a [d]pillar in the temple of My God; he will most certainly never be put out of it, and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which descends out of heaven from My God, and My [own] new name.

13 He who has an ear, let him hear and heed what the Spirit says to the churches.’

    Message to Laodicea

14 “To the angel (divine messenger) of the church in [e]Laodicea write:

These are the words of the Amen, the trusted andfaithful and true Witness, the [f]Beginning and Origin of God’s creation:

15 ‘I know your deeds, that you are [g]neither cold (invigorating, refreshing) nor hot (healing, therapeutic); I wish that you were [h]cold or hot.

16 So because you are lukewarm (spiritually useless), and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of My mouth [rejecting you with disgust]

17 Because you say, “I am rich, and have prospered and grown wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked [without hope and in great need]

18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold that has been heated red hot andrefined by fire so that you may become truly rich; and white clothes [representing righteousness] to clothe yourself so that the shame of your nakedness will not be seen; and healing salve to put on your eyes so that you may see.

19 Those whom I [dearly and tenderly] love, I rebuke and discipline [showing them their faults and instructing them]; so be enthusiastic and repent[change your inner self—your old way of thinking, your sinful behavior—seek God’s will]

20 Behold, I stand at the door [of the church] and continuallyknock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him (restore him), and he with Me.

21 He who overcomes [the world through believing that Jesus is the Son of God], I will grant to him [the privilege] to sit beside Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down beside My Father on His throne.

22 He who has an ear, let him hear and heed what the Spirit says to the churches.’”

    Footnotes

[a] Revelation 3:1 Sardis (modern Sart, Turkey), in Roman times, was a wealthy city known for the manufacture and dyeing of woolen fabric and carpets. Originally, it was the capital of the ancient Lydian Empire and was the first city to mint coinage (600 b.c.). A stream that flowed through its market place carried gold dust from a nearby mountain. King Croesus of Lydia (560-546 b.c.) financed the building of the great Temple of Artemis in Ephesus (550 b.c.). The city was conquered twice, under Cyrus the Great and under Antiochus, due to lack of adequate watchfulness.

    [b] Revelation 3:1 See note 1:4.

[c] Revelation 3:7 Philadelphia (modern Alashehir, Turkey) was a commercial center located on elevated ground overlooking the fertile plain of the Hermus (Gediz) River. In 189 b.c. the king of Pergamum established Philadelphia and named the city to honor his brother.

[c] Revelation 3:12 Like the common phrase “pillar of the community,” this is a metaphor of great honor, but far more so. The statement that the one who overcomes will never leave the temple is assurance that he will never lose the privilege of being in the presence of God and serving Him.

[d] Revelation 3:14 Laodicea, located beside the Lycus River, was a prosperous city about forty miles south of Philadelphia. It had a well-respected financial center, thriving textile production industry (specializing in black wool), and a leading medical school that produced a famous eye salve. Two other cities were in this general area: Colossae, known for its mountain spring of cold, fresh water; and Hierapolis, a site famous for its hot, therapeutic mineral springs.

    [e] Revelation 3:14 I.e. Origin of Source.

[f] Revelation 3:15 This phrase and the word lukewarm in v 16 form a metaphor that is probably based on the quality of the water supply of Laodicea, which was delivered by aqueduct from the hot mineral springs about five miles away. During its journey, the water cooled to a warm or lukewarm temperature.

[g] Revelation 3:15 I.e. alive, productive—beneficial in one way or the other.

Thursday Morning Scripture – Isaiah 10

    God’s Help for Israel

“Listen in silence before me, you lands beyond the sea. Bring your strongest arguments. Come now and speak. The court is ready for your case.

“Who has stirred up this king from the east, rightly calling him to God’s service?
Who gives this man victory over many nations and permits him to trample their kings underfoot? With his sword, he reduces armies to dust. With his bow, he scatters them like chaff before the wind.

He chases them away and goes on safely,
though he is walking over unfamiliar ground.

Who has done such mighty deeds,
summoning each new generation from the beginning of time? It is I, the LORD, the First and the Last. I alone am he.”

The lands beyond the sea watch in fear. Remote lands tremble and mobilize for war.

The idol makers encourage one another,
saying to each other, “Be strong!”

The carver encourages the goldsmith, and the molder helps at the anvil. “Good,” they say. “It’s coming along fine.” Carefully they join the parts together, then fasten the thing in place so it won’t fall over.

“But as for you, Israel my servant, Jacob my chosen one, descended from Abraham my friend,

I have called you back from the ends of the earth, saying, ‘You are my servant.’ For I have chosen you and will not throw you away.

10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

11 “See, all your angry enemies lie there,
confused and humiliated. Anyone who opposes you will die and come to nothing.

12 You will look in vain for those who tried to conquer you. Those who attack you will come to nothing.

13 For I hold you by your right hand—I, the LORD your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.

14 Though you are a lowly worm, O Jacob,
don’t be afraid, people of Israel, for I will help you. I am the LORD, your Redeemer.
I am the Holy One of Israel.’

15 You will be a new threshing instrument
with many sharp teeth. You will tear your enemies apart, making chaff of mountains.

16 You will toss them into the air, and the wind will blow them all away; a whirlwind will scatter them. Then you will rejoice in the LORD. You will glory in the Holy One of Israel.

17 “When the poor and needy search for water and there is none, and their tongues are parched from thirst, then I, the LORD, will answer them. I, the God of Israel, will never abandon them.

18 I will open up rivers for them on the high plateaus. I will give them fountains of water in the valleys. I will fill the desert with pools of water. Rivers fed by springs will flow across the parched ground.

19 I will plant trees in the barren desert—
cedar, acacia, myrtle, olive, cypress, fir, and pine.

20 I am doing this so all who see this miracle will understand what it means—
that it is the LORD who has done this, the Holy One of Israel who created it.

21 “Present the case for your idols,” says the LORD. “Let them show what they can do,” says the King of Israel.[a]

22 “Let them try to tell us what happened long ago so that we may consider the evidence. Or let them tell us what the future holds, so we can know what’s going to happen.

23 Yes, tell us what will occur in the days ahead. Then we will know you are gods. In fact, do anything—good or bad! Do something that will amaze and frighten us.

24 But no! You are less than nothing and can do nothing at all. Those who choose you pollute themselves.

25 “But I have stirred up a leader who will approach from the north. From the east he will call on my name. I will give him victory over kings and princes. He will trample them as a potter treads on clay.

26 “Who told you from the beginning that this would happen? Who predicted this,
making you admit that he was right? No one said a word!

27 I was the first to tell Zion,  ‘Look! Help is on the way!’[b] I will send Jerusalem a messenger with good news.

28 Not one of your idols told you this. Not one gave any answer when I asked.

29 See, they are all foolish, worthless things. All your idols are as empty as the wind.

Thursday Morning Scripture – Matthew 18

      The Greatest in the Kingdom

1 About that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”

Jesus called a little child to Him and put the child among them.

Then He said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.

So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

“And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on My behalf[a] is welcoming Me.

But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in Me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea.

“What sorrow awaits the world, because it tempts people to sin. Temptations are inevitable, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting.

So if your hand or foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It’s better to enter eternal life with only one hand or one foot than to be thrown into eternal fire with both of your hands and feet.

And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It’s better to enter eternal life with only one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.[b]

10 “Beware that you don’t look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels are always in the presence of My heavenly Father.[c]

      Parable of the Lost Sheep

12 “If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won’t he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost?

13 And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he will rejoice over it more than over the ninety-nine that didn’t wander away!

14 In the same way, it is not my heavenly Father’s will that even one of these little ones should perish.

Wednesday Morning Scripture – Psalm 23

      (0) A psalm of David:

      (1) Adonai is my shepherd; I lack nothing.

He has me lie down in grassy pastures,
He leads me by quiet water,

He restores my inner person. He guides me in right paths for the sake of His own name.

Even if I pass through death-dark ravines,
      I will fear no disaster; for You are with me;
Your rod and staff reassure me.

You prepare a table for me, even as my enemies watch; You anoint my head with oil
      from an overflowing cup.

Goodness and grace will pursue me
every day of my life; and I will live in the house of Adonai for years and years to come.

Wednesday Morning Scripture – John 7:1-39

      Jesus Teaches at the Feast

1 After this, Jesus walked [from place to place] in Galilee, for He would not walk in Judea because the Jews were seeking to kill Him. Now the Jewish [a]Feast of Tabernacles (Booths) was approaching.

So His [b]brothers said to Him, “Leave here and go to Judea, so that Your disciples [there] may also see the works that You do.

No one does anything in secret when he wants to be known publicly. If You [must] do these things, show Yourself openly to the world and make Yourself known!”

For not even His brothers believed in Him.

So Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come; but any time is right for you.

The world cannot hate you [since you are part of it], but it does hate Me because I denounce it and testify that its deeds are evil.

Go up to the feast yourselves. I am not going up to this feast because My time has not yet fully come.”

Having said these things to them, He stayed behind in Galilee.

10 But [afterward], when His brothers had gone up to the feast, He went up too, not publicly [with a caravan], but quietly [because He did not want to be noticed]

11 So the Jews kept looking for Him at the feast and asking, “Where is He?”

12 There was a lot of whispered discussion and murmuring among the crowds about Him. Some were saying, “He is a good man”; others said, “No, on the contrary, He misleads the people [giving them false ideas].”

13 Yet no one was speaking out openly and freely about Him for fear of [the leaders of] the Jews.

14 When the feast was already half over, Jesus went up into the temple [court] and began to teach.

15 Then the Jews were perplexed. They said, “How [c]did this man become learned [so versed in the Scriptures and theology] [d]without formal training?”

16 Jesus answered them by saying, “My teaching is not My own, but His who sent Me.

17 If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know whether the teaching is of God or whether I speak on My own accord and by My own authority.

18 He who speaks on his own accord seeks glory andhonor for himself. But He who seeks the glory andthe honor of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is no unrighteousness or deception in Him.

19 “Did not Moses give you the Law? And yet not one of you keeps the Law. Why do you want to kill Me [for not keeping it]?”

20 The crowd answered, “You have a demon [You are out of Your mind]! Who wants to kill You?”

21 Jesus replied, “I did one [e]work, and you are all astounded.

22 For this reason Moses has given you [God’s law regarding] circumcision (not that it originated with Moses, but with the patriarchs) and you circumcise a man[even] on the Sabbath.

23 If, to avoid breaking the Law of Moses, a man undergoes [f]circumcision on the Sabbath, why are you angry with Me for making a man’s whole body well on the Sabbath?

24 Do not judge by appearance [superficially and arrogantly], but judge fairly and righteously.”

25 Then some of the people of Jerusalem said, “Is this not the Man they want to kill?

26 Look, He is speaking publicly, and they say nothing to Him! Is it possible that the rulers really know that this is the Christ?

27 But we know where this Man is from; whenever the Christ comes, no one will know where He is from.”

28 Then Jesus called out as He taught in the temple, “You know Me and know where I am from; and I have not come on my own initiative [as self-appointed], but He who sent Me is true, and Him you do not know.

29 I know Him Myself because I am from Him [I came from His very presence] and it was He [personally] who sent Me.”

30 So they were eager to arrest Him; but no one laid a hand on Him, because His time had not yet come.

31 But many from the crowd believed in Him. And they kept saying, “When the Christ comes, will He do more signs and exhibit more proofs than this Man?”

32 The Pharisees heard the crowd muttering these things [under their breath] about Him, and the chief priests and Pharisees sent [g]guards to arrest Him.

33 Therefore Jesus said, “For a little while longer I am [still] with you, and then I go to Him who sent Me.

34 You will look for Me, and will not [be able to] find Me; and where I am, you cannot come.”

35 Then the Jews said among themselves, “Where does this Man intend to go that we will not find Him? Does He intend to go to the Dispersion [of Jews scattered and living] among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?

36 What does this statement of His mean, ‘You will look for Me, and will not [be able to] find Me; and where I am, you cannot come’?”

37 Now on the last and most important day of the feast, Jesus stood and called out [in a loud voice], “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink!

38 He who believes in Me [who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Me], as the Scripture has said, ‘From his innermost being will flow continually rivers of living water.’”

39 But He was speaking of the [Holy] Spirit, whom those who believed in Him [as Savior] were to receive afterward. The Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified (raised to honor).

Wednesday Morning Scripture – John 4:7-38

      The Samaritan Woman

Then a woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink”—

For His disciples had gone off into the city to buy food—

The Samaritan woman asked Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask me, a [a]Samaritan woman, for a drink?” (For Jews have nothing to do with Samaritans.)

10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew[about] God’s gift [of eternal life], and who it is who says, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him[instead], and He would have given you living water (eternal life).”

11 She said to Him, “Sir, [b]You have nothing to draw with [no bucket and rope] and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water?

12 Are You greater than our father [c]Jacob, who gave us the well, and who used to drink from it himself, and his sons and his cattle also?”

13 Jesus answered her, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again.

14 But whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again. But the water that I give him will become in him a spring of water [satisfying his thirst for God] welling up[continually flowing, bubbling within him] to eternal life.”

15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not get thirsty nor [have to continually] come all the way here to draw.”

      16 At this, Jesus said, “Go, call your husband and come back.”17 The woman answered, “I do not have a husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have correctly said, ‘I do not have a husband’;

18 for you have had five husbands, and the man you are now living with is not your [d]husband. You have said this truthfully.”

19 The woman said to Him, “Sir, I see that You are a prophet.

20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews say that the place where one ought to worship is in Jerusalem [at the temple].”

21 Jesus replied, “Woman, believe Me, a time is coming [when God’s kingdom comes] when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem.

22 You [Samaritans] do not know what you worship; we [Jews] do know what we worship, for salvation is from the Jews.

23 But a time is coming and is already here when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit [from the heart, the inner self] and in truth; for the Father seeks such people to be His worshipers.

24 God is spirit [the Source of life, yet invisible to mankind], and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ—the Anointed); when that One comes, He will tell us everything [we need to know].”

26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you, am He (the Messiah).

27 Just then His disciples came, and they were surprised to find Him talking with a woman. However, no one said, “What are You asking about?” or, “Why are You talking to her?”

28 Then the woman left her water jar, and went into the city and began telling the people,

29 “Come, see a man who told me all the things that I have done! Can this be the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed)?”

30 So the people left the city and were coming to Him.

31 Meanwhile, the disciples were urging Jesus [to have a meal], saying, “Rabbi (Teacher), eat.”

32 But He told them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.”

33 So the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him something to eat?”

34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to completely finish His work.

35 Do you not say, ‘It is still four months until the harvest comes?’ Look, I say to you, raise your eyes and look at the fields and see, they are white for harvest.

36 Already the reaper is receiving his wages and he is gathering fruit for eternal life; so that he who plants and he who reaps may rejoice together.

37 For in this case the saying is true, ‘One[person] sows and another reaps.’

38 I sent you to reap [a crop] for which you have not worked. Others have worked and you have been privileged to reap the results of their work.”

      John 4:7-38 (AMP)

      Footnotes

[a] John 4:9 The Jews considered Samaritan women ceremonially unclean.

[b] John 4:11 The woman’s response is due to the fact that “living water” was the normal description for running water. She probably thought that Jesus was referring to the underground water source that fed the well.

[c] John 4:12 Jacob (renamed Israel in Gen 32:28) was the son of Isaac, grandson of Abraham and father of the twelve sons who established the twelve tribes of Israel.

[d] John 4:18 God does not regard cohabitation as marriage. Marriage is a binding, legal covenant between a man and a woman.

Lion Bites – Global Prophetic Alliance – Rivers of Living Water

      Dear ones,

Instead of coming to Me for the water of life that will heal you and satisfy you,  many of you are digging your own cisterns, cisterns that can hold no water.

      Closed cisterns.

      Limited cisterns.

Instead, ask Me to fill you up, to give you the living water you seek.

Allow Me to fill you with My Spirit.

Without My Spirit you cannot understand heavenly things.

Not even earthly things, for that matter.

I am Your Good Shepherd and I will lead you to the living waters that will truly restore your soul.

Ask of Me, believe, and receive My Spirit.

I will send you rivers of living water!

      Activation:

Where have you gone for healing and satisfaction and rest?

Confess and cover up those cisterns that don’t effectively water you. Next, go to Him and ask Him for fresh water. Believe and receive from Him rivers of living waters.

Jesus answered her, “If you knew [about] God’s gift [of eternal life], and who it is who says, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him [instead], and He would have given you living water (eternal life).”

      John 4:10 (AMP)

      Jesus Promises Living Water

37 On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, “Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!

38 Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”[a]

39 (When He said “living water,” He was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in Him. But the Spirit had not yet been given,[b] because Jesus had not yet entered into His glory.)

      John 7:37-39 (NLT)

      Footnotes

[a] 7:37-38 Or “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. 38 For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from the heart of anyone who believes in me.’”

[b] 7:39 Several early manuscripts read But as yet there was no Spirit. Still others read But as yet there was no Holy Spirit.

      Psalm 23:1-3 (CJB)

      (1)
Adonai is my shepherd; I lack nothing.
He has me lie down in grassy pastures,
he leads me by quiet water,
      he restores my inner person.
He guides me in right paths
for the sake of his own name.
