Lion Bites – Global Prophetic Alliance – Aim High

This is not primarily a call to performance or to excellence. The call to ‘aim high’ is about where you are fixing your gaze. Your aim is about where you set your sights. Where are you are aiming and why?

The issue I want to address is where you are lowering your sights, where you are allowing your gaze, your aim, to be capped. Where are you allowing limitation to influence where you are setting your sights? What are your expectations and where are you adjusting them according to your experiences and your history?

My ways are unlimited. My ways are not bound by anything that could enable the enemy to restrict, constrain, or limit what is possible in and through your life. There are no chains holding me back. I am more than able to do all things in and through you, in accordance with my plans and purposes.

Today, throw off all limitation. Let’s deal with every limiting mindset so you can choose the joy of faith and belief which partners with possibility. Allow me to infuse you with expectation and the unshakable belief that “my God can do anything” … even through you!

Activation: There may be a place of disappointment or pain that God would like to heal you and free you of that has led you to a place of limitation and self protection. Spend time with Holy Spirit, allowing him to show you if, where, and why you may have allowed limitation to influence your decision making, your expectations, and your ability to engage with “God of the possible”.

For nothing will be impossible with God.

Luke 1:37 (ESV)

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

Colossians 3:2 (ESV)

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Isaiah 55:8-9 (ESV)

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:1-2 (ESV)

Thursday Morning Scripture (Wk11/2022) – 2 Peter 1:16-21

Eyewitnesses

16 For we did not follow cleverly devised stories or myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were [1]eyewitnesses of His majesty [His grandeur, His authority, His sovereignty].

17 For when He was invested with honor and [the radiance of the [2]Shekinah] glory from God the Father, such a voice as this came to Him from the [splendid] Majestic Glory [in the bright cloud that overshadowed Him, saying], [3]“This is My Son, My Beloved Son in whom I am well-pleased and delighted”—

18 and we [actually] heard this voice made from heaven when we were together with Him on the holy mountain.

19 So we have the prophetic word made more certain. You do well to pay [close] attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and light breaks through the gloom and the [4]morning star arises in your hearts.

20 [5]But understand this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of or comes from one’s own [personal or special] interpretation,

21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

2 Peter 1:16-21 (AMP)

Footnotes

  1. 2 Peter 1:16 A reference to the transfiguration (Matt 17:1ff).
  2. 2 Peter 1:17 The word “Shekinah” does not appear in Scripture, but has been used by both Christians and Jews to describe the visible divine Presence of God (the brilliant light of the divine), in such things as the burning bush, the cloud and the pillar of fire that led the Hebrews in the wilderness, and the Presence of God that rested between the cherubim over the mercy seat of the ark.
  3. 2 Peter 1:17 With these words God affirms the deity of Jesus and His divine essence.
  4. 2 Peter 1:19 Lit light-bringer.
  5. 2 Peter 1:20 Or For you know.

Lion Bites – Global Prophetic Alliance – Treasure

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.

2 Corinthians 4:6-7 (ESV)

I have placed my light within you. It is a glorious light, a light that cannot be overcome. It is a light that dispels darkness. I have placed it in you, who are jars of clay, so that the glory may be mine.

Many of you, however, have become so focused on the fact that you are jars of clay, that you have hidden my light. You have become convinced that you are clay, and therefore, are not fit to shine my light, seeing yourself as having many flaws and cracks. You have become overwhelmed by the signs of weakness you see within yourself, and this has kept your light from the world. You fear that you will taint my light by diminishing it. You fear yourself.

You have not understood that your weaknesses make my light shine brighter. You have not understood that the fact that my light shines through imperfect, cracked vessels inspires hope, and brings such great glory to me.
I am not afraid of your vulnerabilities.
They do not disqualify you.
They bring me greater glory when you lean on my strength.
This is not the time to be hiding your light. What you have within you is a treasure more valuable than silver and gold. Do not hoard it or keep it from those around you. Arise and let my light shine forth.

Activation: Ask Holy Spirit in which way he would like you to share the treasure that is within you today.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16 (ESV)

Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colours in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep an open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16 (MSG)

Wednesday Morning Scripture (Wk11/2022) – 2 Peter 1:16

Growth In Christian Virtue

1 [1]Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle (special messenger, personally chosen representative) of Jesus Christ, To those who have [2]received and possess [by God’s will] a precious faith of the [3]same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:

2 Grace and peace [that special sense of spiritual well-being] be multiplied to you in the [true, intimate] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

3 For His divine power has bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and godliness, through [4]true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.

4 For by these He has bestowed on us His precious and magnificent promises [of inexpressible value], so that by them you may escape from the immoral freedom that is in the world because of disreputable desire, and become sharers of the divine nature.

5 For this very reason, applying your diligence [to the divine promises, make every effort] in [exercising] your faith to, [5]develop moral excellence, and in moral excellence, knowledge (insight, understanding),

6 and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, steadfastness, and in your steadfastness, godliness,

7 and in your godliness, brotherly affection, and in your brotherly affection, [develop Christian] love [that is, learn to unselfishly seek the best for others and to do things for their benefit].

8 For as these qualities are yours and are increasing [in you as you grow toward spiritual maturity], they will keep you from being useless and unproductive in regard to the true knowledge and greater understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 For whoever lacks these qualities is blind—shortsighted [closing his spiritual eyes to the truth], having become oblivious to the fact that he was cleansed from his old sins.

10 Therefore, believers, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you [be sure that your behavior reflects and confirms your relationship with God]; for by [6]doing these things [actively developing these virtues], you will never stumble [in your spiritual growth and will live a life that leads others away from sin];

11 for in this way entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly provided to you.

12 Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them and are established in the truth which is [7]held firmly in your grasp.

13 I think it right, as long as I am in this earthly tent, to inspire you by reminding you,

14 knowing that the laying aside of this earthly tent of mine is imminent, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.

15 Moreover, I will diligently endeavor [to see to it] that even after my departure you will be able, at all times, to call these things to mind.

2 Peter 1:1-16 (AMP)
