Habakkuk 2:2

How do you plan your goals?

God Answers the Prophets

1 I will stand at my guard post
And station myself on the tower;
And I will keep watch to see what He will say to me,
And what answer I will give [as His spokesman] when I am reproved.

Then the LORD answered me and said,
“Write the vision
And engrave it plainly on [clay] tablets
So that the one who reads it will run.

“For the vision is yet for the appointed [future] time
It hurries toward the goal [of fulfillment]; it will not fail.
Even though it delays, wait [patiently] for it,
Because it will certainly come; it will not delay.

Habakkuk 2:1-3 (AMP)

On reading today’s Prompt, the verse that immediately came to mind was Habakkuk 2:2. If one has a goal, the best way to start is by writing it down. This makes it plain and gives it structure and timelines. It also makes it possible to think about anything that could change what you plan to do.

An example of this, is the management of a project. When doing this, thought has to be given to key stages, which are: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure.

Most things can be treated as a project. In fact, life itself can be treated as a project. Many like to have a structure to what they plan to do generally, day-to-day, or as a five year (or more) plan. I, myself, have tried to create structure over the years but have done so under my own strength. Plans have, therefore, fallen by the wayside, and resulted to nothing.

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Proverbs 29:18 (KJV)

An individual needs to have a vision, purpose or direction. It has always been the cry of man’s heart to know the meaning of life. This is whether it be on an individual basis, just for them to feel the result, or if it is on a wider scale where the change is made for a community, organisation or even the world. When milestones are met, it can be so fulfilling.

The Holy Bible was written over a span of two millenia. We are able to learn and receive from men and women who lived their lives for God. They were people like you and me. The pages of the 66 books, were the outpouring of prophets, priests, doctors, scholars, fishermen and more. From what we read we learn about God, His Son and the move of the Holy Spirit; what He did then and what He does now. He changeth not! It is from the writings so many years ago, that we are able to know the future; what God’s plans for us are.

For I know the plans  and  thoughts that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace  and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP)

As a Christian, you are nothing without placing God at the forefront of all you do and all you plan to do.

For me, now is a plan/time for change!
