Lion Bites – Global Prophetic Alliance – Extravagant Worship

I have heard your cries of adoration and wonder in worship. I have seen your open heart before Me as you exalt Me and lift up My name in the earth. You lift your eyes and your hands up to Me and sing songs that others have written, but this season calls for more.

Remember Mary who sat at My feet to learn from Me and get to know Me. The one who wept at My feet, whose pain moved Me deeply. The one who came back to My feet in worship. She had been so marked by the experience of Lazarus’ resurrection, of her grief, and then the joy of victory and freedom, that she was moved to such a pure and extravagant act of worship: pouring a pint of expensive perfume over My feet and wiping it with her hair.

Before this happened, she did not come out of the house to meet Me. She hid away and distanced herself. But after the encounter with Me, she changed for good. Instead of distance and hiding, she publicly submitted herself to Me in an act of outrageous dedication. Even My disciples were shocked by it.

Yet I welcomed this act of worship. Mary’s worship was also a realisation about who I AM; she understood that Jesus had to die to bring forth salvation, and this led her to a place of deep gratitude and wonder. She saw through spiritual eyes, not wordly ones.

That is what I am calling you into today. Pure, extravagant, outrageous worship through spiritual eyes. Worship that comes from a place of knowing Me, encountering Me in your pain, and allowing Me to lead you through it. Embracing freedom, knowing that it is only because of the sacrifice that I made that you can stand healed, whole, and righteous before Me.

Activation:

Create some space in your day to come before the Lord in worship. Use instrumental music, or no music at all, so that you can offer your own dedication to Him. Remember that you have been marked for good by the experiences that Jesus has brought you through. You have walked through pain and you have met Jesus there. You know the joy of life and the fullness of resurrection. He is calling you to a place of pure, extravagant, outrageous worship now. Fall at His feet, cover them with perfume; in awe, reverence and wonder at who He is and what He has done.

32 When Mary came [to the place] where Jesus was and saw Him, she fell at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”

33 When Jesus saw her sobbing, and the Jews who had come with her also sobbing, He was [a]deeply moved in spirit [to the point of anger at the sorrow caused by death] and was troubled,

John 11:32-33 (AMP)

Footnotes

[a] John 11:33 In Greek this term suggests an emotional indignation or sternness. Jesus was angry at the sorrow caused by death. It occurs four more times in the NT in reference to Jesus’ words or His feelings. See Matt 9:30; Mark 1:43; John 11:38; 13:21.

Then [a]Mary took a pound of very expensive perfume of pure [b]nard, and she poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped His feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.

    John 12:3 (AMP)

    Footnotes

[a] John 12:3 There were two anointings of Jesus. This one in Bethany by Mary, the sister of Martha and Lazarus (Matt 26:7; Mark 14:3), and the other in the area of Galilee by an unnamed woman (Luke 7:37, 38).

[b] John 12:3 This was a thick, scented oil obtained from the root of a flowering plant grown in the Himalayas of Tibet and in the northern regions of India and Nepal.
