My people are living in a place of spiritual division within themselves; their attention constantly being split between the spirit and the flesh. They sing that I am worthy of it all, yet they withhold themselves from full union with Me in the spirit.
They long for My presence and dwell with My Spirit, but then return to their earthly thinking when physical and fleshly challenges arise. It is not enough to hold onto Me with your right hand, yet be entertaining the world with your left.
Jesus challenged His disciples about this – He came with hard teaching to expose the offense within them that caused them to withhold from submitting to the fullness of who He is in Me. The visceral language of eating His flesh and drinking His blood, to literally take Himself inside of yourselves – to join in a spiritual union that secures you to Him. Jesus challenges the religious zeitgeist of the times; My people must relinquish their comfort for completeness.
So I am asking of you now to let go of any offence, control or longing for comfort that is holding you back from full and complete union with Me in spirit. Take the Bread that I offer, literally inside of yourself; make room for Me, join yourself to Me – and understand the freedom and life that comes from this place of union, at all costs.
Activation:
Read the passage in John 6:53-63. Allow Jesus’ words to minister to you, and take note of any offense or discomfort you may feel – ask Holy Spirit to meet you in that place and reveal to you the root cause of these emotions. Spend time dealing with these – repent where you feel led, and submit any areas of your life that are not yet joined fully with Jesus.
Create some space in your day to take communion. Picture the flesh and blood of Jesus joining with your insides as you take it – bonding Himself to you in spirit. Ask Jesus to bring you to a place of security and freedom in your union with Him.
53 And Jesus said to them, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood [unless you believe in Me as Savior and believe in the saving power of My blood which will be shed for you], you do not have life in yourselves.
54 The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood [believes in Me, accepts Me as Savior] has eternal life [that is, now possesses it], and I will raise him up [from the dead] on the last day.
55 For My flesh is true [spiritual] food, and My blood is true [spiritual] drink.
56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood [believes in Me, accepts Me as Savior] remains in Me, and I [in the same way remain] in him.
57 Just as the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, even so the one who feeds on Me [believes in Me, accepts Me as Savior] will also live because of Me.
58 This is the Bread which came down out of heaven. It is not like [the manna that] our fathers ate and they [eventually] died; the one who eats this Bread [believes in Me, accepts Me as Savior] will live forever.”
Words to the Disciples
59 He said these things in a synagogue while He was teaching in Capernaum.
60 When many of His disciples heard this, they said, “This is a difficult and harsh and offensive statement. Who can [be expected to] listen to it?”61 But Jesus, aware that His disciples were complaining about it, asked them, “Does this cause you to stumble and take offense?
62 What then [will you think] if you see the Son of Man ascending to [the realm] where He was before?
63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh conveys no benefit [it is of no account]. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and life [providing eternal life].
