Over and Over Again

What book could you read over and over again?

Although I haven’t actually read the Holy Bible in its entirety, I have to say that it is a book that I could potentially read over and over again.

Within its pages are a catalogue of sacred books written by prophets and historians. To a believer of the One True God, these tell us of the beginning; the creation of the earth; the creation and lives of the inhabitants of the earth; the expectations of us, the believers; the promises made to us; the fulfilment of scripture in the new Testament, by way of the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ/Yeshua HaMashiach; and a glimpse into the end times and renewal of the earth.

I’ve often referred to the Holy Bible as a manual for life. There is so much in it, because we are given detailed information on what is required from us and why we are here. The stories within the pages can be interpreted in such a manner that you will find yourself there and then, the answer to many problems and issues of today, even though it was written over 2000 years ago. On many occasions I’ve read of an incident in a story on one day and returned to receive an answer to an issue on another; different issue resolved or revealed in the exact same text.

The Holy Bible is text of situations and people inspired by God. The very birth of Jesus Christ/Yeshua HaMashiach occurred for us. He was concealed in the Old Testament and revealed in the New. When taking up the Holy Bible to read, as a follower or new believer, we need the Holy Spirit to help us understand and receive what we need to, as we consume the words.

Your words were found and I ate them,
And Your words became a joy to me and the delight of my heart;
For I have been called by Your name,
O Lord God of hosts.

Jeremiah 15:16 (AMP)

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be [a]successful.

Footnotes

[a] Joshua 1:8 God’s formula leading to Joshua’s success is clearly outlined in vv 5-9.

I, personally, need to sit down, steady my mind, and read and receive more of what the Lord wishes to tell me. The busyness of life can, at times, easily sway us…sway me. I ask you Lord to forgive me and give me strength to persevere.

And let endurance have its perfect result and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfect and completely developed [in your faith], lacking in nothing.

James 1:4 (AMP)
