Life can seem boring and mundane as you go through the routine and tedious tasks that form your everyday life. But nothing you do is wasted in My Kingdom! Every task, however small, is part of My training and plan.
Remember David, who looked after his Father’s sheep in the wilderness?
For much of his time he was alone, but in that solitude, he learnt intimacy with Me. This enabled him to make right choices as he waited patiently to be declared king after his anointing by Samuel, and I could declare him ‘a man after My own heart.’
He protected the sheep from lions and bears and, in doing so, became proficient with a sling shot, enabling him to defeat the giant Goliath. The mundane skills of a shepherd, and yet I used them for My Glory!
I am leading you!
I am growing you!
What you are doing now may not feel exciting, but remember, I am with you, and I know the plans I have for you.
Activation: Spend some time today talking to Father God and express any frustrations you are experiencing. Ask Him to help you see the skills you are learning and how you can know joy in the tasks you complete. Think of a difficult situation you had in the past, and note some of the skills and gifts you used to alleviate or resolve them. Praise God for His goodness to you and thank Him for the training He gave you to enable you to walk through it into victory.
For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now.
